Modern Horizons - fave artifacts so far

I won't lie, I've always been a fan of artifacts in MtG. When I see new set spoilers one of the first things I look for are colorless fun toys that I can use. So far Modern Horizons has not let me down. Though only a few have been spoiled so far here are my top favorites at the moment.

The Altar of Dementia. Oh now this is going to be fun sack outlet that will be replacing Ashnod's Altar in a few of my decks. Instead of colorless Mana I may or may not use I get to mill an opponent down. So in anything that produces and obscene amount of token creatures, or a deck that steals everything, this can absolutely murder and opponent in one swoop. Toss a seventy goblin tokens to the Altar and watch the other player start putting their cards away.

Now onto the swords. These are the first two teased although I'm sure there will be a few more coming along just do to the protection color combinations. Currently their combat damage to a player abilities are very nice. Got a deck that specializes in making creatures unblockable? Then these should be a no brainer to add in. I mean a +2/+2, protection from two colors and a pretty hefty extra ability for 3 colorless to bring out and only 2 to equip? Sign me up!

Modern Horizons - Let it snow

Well it appears that snow covered lands are back.  So far they've just shown full art versions and not the regular land versions. Also none of the other 17 previewed cards say anything about snow yet. Hopefully a bit more from Ice Age makes it into the set.

Can't wait to see more from this set even though I probably can't afford it.

Often Forgotten - Hex Parasite

This little guy is something I should be seeing more often in a black deck. It may not have the synergy to go with the rest of the zombies and vampires but it can really make up for that with defensive ability against Planeswalkers. At least that's the first target that comes to my mind.

Also a decent addition to any denial or "you don't get to play magic" style of deck. Plus taking a common wincon from Simic themed decks at the same time.

On top of all that it's dirt cheap to get out. A single mana and you have a 1/1 with a hell of a bite to anything that uses counters of any kind.

The price on these is all over the board though. But check out Ebay and shop around for a good deal.

I know they are always on my list of cards that I will trade for. But for some reason nobody wants me to have another.

Yasova Dragonclaw - Decklist

This is a casual play Commander deck centered around the goal of taking control of your opponents cards. There a few counters spells and some various other cards to help add a bit of defense when you need it.  But the entire idea is to take your everybody else's stuff and use it against them. Be sure to take full advantage of your Commanders ability as well, a built in Act of Treason is always a good thing.
